Tips for Students Studying Abroad

Today where living or studying in a different country is considered as a piece of cake, everybody wants to go abroad to enrich themselves with new experience and expertise. But it is not as fun as you think of it while sitting in your own bedroom.

For some students just the fact of moving out to another state for studies and getting to live on their own is pretty much stressful, let alone the education counselling part. But it is not as difficult as you might be wondering about it. Living a hostel life in a foreign country and living on your own can be the most learning and fun experience for you, it will develop a sense of responsibility and independency in you. Here are a few tips to help you manage things in first few months.

Budget living

There is a simple formula to manage the budget when you are living abroad, “spend what you have on what you need”. Managing a budget may be hectic in the beginning and totally doesn’t mean that you are a poor brat. Germany, France and the United Kingdom are among the best countries to study in Europe and you need to control your expenses effectively.

To do this in a well-organized manner you can start off with keeping a diary, where you can write all about your expenditure and savings. List down all the necessary costs of food, study, internet, mobile phone and also the fun stuff like movies, parties, trips and etc. review your monthly expenses and try to cut down on money wherever you can, try availing student discount wherever possible.

Stay healthy

Taking care of your health when you live abroad is more important. You are your own custodian and this is your responsibility to look after your health. We understand how stressful studies and college with all the exam burden and night studies, this stress makes your immune system weak increasing a chance of you getting sick. Thus, looking after yourself and eating proper food is really important.

Better to cook than eat out

Talking about the budget, home cooking really helps you cutting down the budget. Not only that but home cooked food is way healthier and hygienic than outside food. It is very necessary to intake all the vitamins in your body and eat well. Because when you live abroad you are on your own and it’s all up to you that how you want to do it in a right way.

Also, having to cook at home could be of really fun. You can invite your friends and try new recipes.

Cleaning and washing

When you study abroad you are entitled to do all indoor chores on your own. Clean your home regularly, do the dishes, wash your clothes and stay organized. If you go for laundry do it sensibly, separate ‘whites’ and ‘darks’ and better do this activity with a friend of yours if you don’t want to get bored while the machine get done with its job.

Experience and learn new things

Living away from your home in a foreign country is definitely not that easy but you should open up your mind to welcome new people and experiences coming your way. Make friends, learn local languages as much as you can and be strong. Enjoy your stay and take lots of pictures!
